1) Material selection is a critical first step. Our people are proficient in molding the full spectrum of engineering resins. This proficiency allows us to assist in you material selection.
2) Prototyping proves out your parts. Sometimes it's not wise to rush directly from design to production. That's why
Modern Molding offers two kinds of prototyping.
First, a process we call "PROTOPART," which quickly and economically tests out a handful of parts.
Second, a more durable prototype tool, good for several thousand parts, and convertible at a later time, into a production tool.
3) Quality control is where it all starts. We have found that a quality part must start with a quality mold. In addition to a quality mold we provide processing controls to insure that your parts meet print specifications. We offer Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection of finished parts in our climate-controlled area. We employ a variety of Spec standards and Statistical Process Controls in our Quality Assurance Program. Every new part produced by Modern Molding undergoes a complete first article, noting results for 100% of the dimensions in our customer's part print. These dimensions are recorded utilizing our Coordinate Measuring Machine.
